Project 1 - Flying Eggs

This is the first assignment of this module. We were asked to build and design a gliding device which carries two eggs with it. We presented our device by gliding it outdoor with other different courses under School of Architecture, Building & Design.

Along the process, we met some difficulties and obstacles on experimenting the product. We have tried several times to make sure the device is able to glide smoothly and land the eggs safe and sound after launching it. Consequently, here are a few sketches and "product failure" from the process.

FINAL PRODUCT - BAT-ARANG BAT-TY

PRESENTATION

February 24th, Wednesday is the presentation day, my group is called the Stomach Egg.  We were all given 3 chances to launch our device based on our decisions. If we didn't launch it well at the first time, we can still launch it again.

I was the one chosen by my group to launch our device, because I'm the only male in the group, assuming I'm stronger to launch it further. Well, something funny happened when it was our turn to present...

Yup, until now, it will always be an embarassing moment in my memory. P/S Sorry to the girl who I ACCIDENTALLY almost kill.

IDEA JOURNAL 1

INTRODUCTION

In this assignment, I have learnt:

  1. How to solve problems critically such as the egg protection and preventing the device from crash landing.

  2. How to build a gliding device.

  3. What material to use that is suitable for gliding.

This was my first assignment in Taylor's and I felt clueless when doing the project and also the idea journal. Although we met a few failures along the process, we did it and we have fun. I love my groupmates as they are passionate, helpful and positive towards our flying eggs device.
