ASSIGNMENT 3 -

PARK VISITOR CENTRE LANDSCAPE PROPOSAL (PART 2)

This final assignment is integrated with the Constructed Landscape module. For this assignment, we have to design the interior part for the Park Visitor Centre, which includes the placement of furniture and the interior drafting techniques.

The boundary for our proposal is 25m x 20m, wile the boundary of the Visitor Centre is 10m x 8m.

INTRODUCTION

FURNITURE LAYOUT

ORTHOGRAPHICS

Before we started planning the layout, we have to research on whether the appropriate types of furniture to use on a specific area. I did my research on the IKEA website and I did a furniture proposal for my interim stage.

After finding out the proper dimensions for each furniture, we can start drafting the symbols for our furniture on the plan.

Other than furniture, we also have to considered all the doors and windows placement, which then leads to the suitable type of flooring tiles.

After we finalize our plan for the furniture, we can begin drawing sectional elevations of a given view from the lecturers. Our lecturer, Ms. Sufina had taught us how to draft the section of a standard roof and foundation, from both front and side views of the Park Visitor Centre. All the drawings must have a proper scale and dimensions.

Finally, we have to choose a furniture from the finalise plan and produce 4 orthographic drawings with scale, which includes :-

1 Top View

2 Elevations

1 Section Drawings

From this assignment, I have learnt that every details of our drawings are very important before we entered the construction stage, as these little details are the basic foundation that structured a building.

Overall, it is quite tough to finish all the drawings with tools as it requires a lot of energy and focus. Despite all the sleepless hours, I am satisfy with the final outcome of this assignment.
