The theme of our machine is a superhero. My group have been assigned to the character Professor X from X-Men. With a group members of 5, each of us has to come up with 2 contraptions, which is 10 contraptions in total. An extra contraption will be the final task of the machine.

WORK IN PROGRESS

I have come up with two contraptions of my own, which is the zigzag railway and the spiral slide. I am responsible for the beginning part of the machine, so I have to work the next part of the contraptions with my teammates to make the whole thing flow.

In this assignment, I have learnt:

  1. How to think creatively and critically to solve the problems of our machine.

  2. How to make the contraptions work by playing, observing and thinking.

  3. The importance of co-operating with teammates to finish the job.

At the beginning, we wasted too much time figuring out the task for our machine to perform and did not focus on the contraptions part. So, we have to rush on the final 2 days before presentation and it was brutal. In conclusion, although we were completely stressed out mentally and physically, we managed to complete it on time and we were satisfied with our grade.
